Gordon died peacefully at his home in Wasilla, Alaska. He and his wife, Noretta (deceased), drove to Alaska from Illinois in 1962 with their five small children, Debra, Ivy Lee, Gordon III, Guy and Stacey. They stayed in Alaska and raised their family which produced grandchildren and great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren. The family enjoyed all the benefits of Alaskan living i.e. plenty of snow and fresh air, fishing, camping, hunting, hauling water in those early days, and being part of a great growing frontier. Gordon was cremated per his wishes and no other arrangements are scheduled.
