Grayland Noel Thomas Short, 53, died Oct. 6, 2007, at home in Wasilla. The family will have a private service.
Born Sept. 16, 1954, in Rockford, Ill., he obtained his GED and first came to Wasilla in 1983 where he lived until moving to Anchorage in 1996, living there until 1999.
He worked for Frontier Painting & Drywall and enjoyed four-wheeling and fishing and was a CB buff.
His family said, “He will be deeply missed and will always be with us in our hearts.” Short is survived by his wife, Christine, of Joplin, Miss.; son J.R. Short of Wasilla; daughter Michele Groesbeck of Anchorage; stepchildren Carolyen Huff and Jesse Kneff of Joplin, Miss.; brother Edger Short and sister Kathie Snider of Rockford, Ill.; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren in Alaska and Missouri.
Valley Funeral Homes & Crematory of Wasilla and Palmer assisted the family.
