Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Gregory H. Stackhouse, 57, of Wasilla, died April 17, 2015, after battling lung cancer. A devoted son and brother, Gregory was the full-time guardian and caretaker of his mother for the past 12 years. We will struggle to live up to the example he set in his dedication to his family.
Gregory was born Dec. 28, 1958, at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He attended Stonewall Jackson High School, in Manassas, Virginia, where he was a member of the football team.
A resident of Alaska for more than 35 years, Gregory became a black belt in Tae kwon do and completed numerous college courses and certifications.
Gregory is survived by his mother, Eleanor Stackhouse, of Wasilla; and brother, Vance E. Stackhouse. He was preceded in death by his father, Boyce Stackhouse, of Washington, D.C. He will be missed by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and other family members.
