Greta Marie Lenaghen passed away peacefully in her sleep on November 30, 2020, four days short of her 84th birthday. After losing her husband and soulmate, Richard, in July of 2020 she seemed to lose her zest for life and stopped fighting the illnesses that often come with age.
Greta was born in Ellensburg, Washington in 1936 to Kenneth and Eunice Eslinger. She moved to Palmer Alaska in 1993. Greta was a baker for the Valley Hotel where she was well known for amazing homemade pies, cinnamon rolls and other delicious treats.
Greta was preceded in death by her husband Richard Lenaghen; by son, Dick (Richard) Sheeley; by infant daughter, Sally Jane Sheeley; by brother, Larry Eslinger and sister, Geri Bodeman.
Greta will forever be remembered by her children Samuel (Jessie) Sheeley, Susan (Larry) Draveling, Beth (James) Ehrhart, Judith (Rodney) Pitts; by her grandchildren Kirsten, April, Brett, Jessi, Samuel, Dax, David and West; by her great-grandchildren James, Gwenyth and Kailah; Mary and Willow; Thomas and Elizabeth; Emily, Ethan and Ellayna; Violet and Ivy; Cory and Amelia; by her brothers Keith (Karen) Eslinger, Norman (Debbie) Eslinger; by her sisters Janice Mayberry and Karan Jensen; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
