Memorial services for Guy Lee Moore, 74, will be Saturday at 1 p.m., at the Salvation Army Church/Corps, 209 West Evergreen in Palmer, with Majors Dan and Verna Hughes officiating.

Mr. Moore died Feb. 2 at his Wasilla residence from prostate cancer. He was born July 13, 1935 in Englewood, Colo. He came to Alaska in 1982. From 1954 to 1975 he was in the Air Force. He had earned an Expeditionary Award, National Defense Medal, two Efficiency Awards, Good Conduct Medal and Service Medals. He retired in 1975 as a TSGT after 21 years of service. He also retired as a Chief Medical Administration Officer after 17 years of service. He was a Major (Chaplain) for the Alaska State Defense Force. He also was an Envoy (Pastor) for the Salvation Army Mat-Su Corps and retired as Counselor and Chaplain of Adult Rehabilitation Program in Anchorage. He attended the Salvation Army and was a priest in the Anglican Orthodox Church. He liked trains and loved to read.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Virde Moore and his mother, Miriam Louise Moore.

He is survived by his wife, Violet Louise Moore; son, Robert Stump; daughter-in-law, Susan Stump; granddaughter, Jennifer Stump; grandson, James Stump; daughter, Linda Donoho; son-in-law, Dan Donoho; granddaughter, Lois Flippen and her husband, Jeremy Flippen; daughter, Barbara Merrigan; son-in-law, Patrick Merrigan; grandson, Keller Merrigan; and grandson, Trace Merrigan.

Arrangements are with Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel & Crematory, Wasilla.
