Harold L Schmelzer

Born in Little Falls, Minnesota to parents, Lloyd & Delphia. Harold moved to Phoenix Oregon at a young age. He attended Phoenix High School, where he played football as the quarterback and team captain.

Harold went to Panama in the army from 1952 to 1954 married his high school sweetheart Barbara Cocks. They had four children. Harold moved to Alaska in the late 60’s. He enjoyed building houses, made lots of friends, was avid about playing cribbage and played in many tournaments. He was also very talented in painting, ceramics, fused glass, wood carving to name a few. This is how he enjoyed his life- and being with his family.

Survivors: ex spouse Barbara Knetzer; Children Lisa Schmelzer, David Schmelzer, Rick Schmelzer, Suzanne Karagounis; Brother Leo Schmelzer; sister Shirley Cervantas; nine grandchildren; and fifteen great grand children.

Preceded him: parents Lloyd & Delphia Schmelzer; brother Gene Schmelzer; granddaughter and Alexandria Karagounis. He was such a generous person. He will be greatly missed. Rest in peace.

We all loved you. He said he lived a long and great life, and wanted his family and friends to make a cheer to his great long life.
