Harrell W. “Tex” Barber, 54, died Sept. 4, 2007, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer.
Barber was born March 25, 1953, in Texarkana, Texas and graduated from high school there. He settled in Wasilla in 1984 while working as a tile setter and on the Slope.
He was a member of AMVETS Post 9 and American Legion Post 33, and was and avid hunter, fisherman and loved to garden.
Barber is survived by his wife, Sheila Barber of Wasilla; parents Bill and Dorothy Barber; brother Bill Jr. (Donita) Barber; son H. Wayne Barber Jr.; daughter Kody Sabo; nephew Matt Barber; and grandsons Nick and Seth Sabo and Jake Barber, all of Texarkana.
