Longtime Nelchina resident Mr. Herbert P. Simon III, died March 6, 2010, at Providence Alaska Extended Care in Anchorage.
Per his request no services will be held.
Herbert was born May 17, 1940, to Herbert P. Simon Jr. and Helen Emma (Boyd) in Wilmington, Del. He graduated high school and entered the Air Force, serving 20 years until he retired in 1979. He moved to Nelchina in 1969. Herbert was a member of the NRA and the Republican Party.
“Herb loved hunting, trapping and the outdoors. Together he and his wife operated the Little Nelchina Farm for many years,” wrote the family.
Herb was preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Simon of Alaska; son, James Simon of Alaska; sister and brother in-law, Carol and John Mosemann of Delaware; and several nieces and nephews in Alaska and Delaware.
