Age 61 passed away May 13, in her husband’s arms surrounded by family and friends at Providence Hospital in Anchorage Alaska after several years of battling with heart failure.

Holly was born Jan 29, 1958 in Orofino Idaho to Harry and Doris Meyer. She attended Palmer High School where she met her Eternal Companion and graduated in 1976. She married Craig Saunders at the Idaho Falls Temple in 1977. They lived in Palmer AK from 1977 until 2015. Together they raised 4 children who are all married and have given them 13 wonderful grandchildren. In 2015 Holly and Craig moved to live year round at their cabin on the Yentna River 27 miles down river from Skwentna. There they began building a lodging business. They loved working on building projects and spending lots of time playing games, taking walks in the woods, watching movies, and just enjoying each other’s company. Holly is a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She spent her whole life serving and catering to her family. She will be remembered for many talents. She had a continual smile and was kind and friendly to everyone she met.

She is survived by her two sons, Travis and Lisa Saunders of Palmer, Justin and Erin Saunders of Palmer; two daughters, Jennifer and Nick Martin of Wasilla, Tamara and Igor Chernonog of Anchorage; Don Zoerb of Wasilla; thirteen grandchildren, Brennan Zoerb of Anchorage, Donny, Savana, Wesey, and Tammy Zoerb of Wasilla, Coltin, Trevor, and Rakenzie Saunders of Palmer, Jacob, Ryan, and Ethan Saunders of Palmer, Ryker and Kaya Martin of Wasilla, husband Craig Saunders of Skwentna.

A service will be held May 18th at 11:00am at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Wasilla Stake Center at 821 Dellwood St Wasilla AK.
