Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Imogene “Jean” Harding, 83, of Franklin, West Virginia, passed away April 22, 2014, at Pendleton Manor in Franklin.
She was born Sept. 20, 1930, in Butler, Okla., and was the daughter of the late Joe Morris and Lucille Stumbough Morris.
She was a registered nurse and a member of Christ Central Community Church. Jean loved gardening and helping others. She had devoted many hours of her time in the community serving as a member of the Potomac Valley Garden Club, a Mountain Hospice volunteer and a C.A.N. volunteer.
While living in Alaska prior to moving to Pendleton County, she had been very active in Red Cross disaster relief work.
On May 11, 1951, she married Donald “Don” Harding, who survives. They would have celebrated 63 years of marriage next month.
Surviving are loving husband, Don Harding; daughters, Donna Harding of Palmer and Linda Benton of Jefferson, S.C.; sons, Michael and wife, Martha, Harding of Angola, Indiana, and Jeff Harding of Kailua-Kona, Hawaii; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service is at 2 p.m., April 25, in the Activities Room of Pendleton Manor in Franklin, W.Va., with Pastor Sam Harper officiating.
