Irene Sanden, 84 passed on November 19th 2021. Irene was born in Sitka, AK to Albert and Oliana (Oskoloff) Brookman. She was the youngest of 6. Irene is survived by her husband, Charles and children, Tina, Glen, Tammy and Celia; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandkids and 4 great great grandkids. Irene grew up in Sitka on a fishing boat. She went on to live in Seattle, where she became a barber before moving back to Alaska in 1971. Irene moved to Wasilla and opened a barber shop. She would cut for Joe Redington and Norm Vaughan and so many more over her 58 years in business. She was a great mother and an even better grandmother. She loved with her whole heart. As she got older, she enjoyed going to bingo with her husband and taking their dog on walks. She enjoyed spending time with her family. Irene was a special woman; she will be greatly missed.
Celebration of Life will be held January 15th, 2022 at the American Legion post 35 at 2pm.
