Jackie Carl passed away at the Palmer, Pioneer and Veterans Home on May 24, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born on February 8, 1942, in Flint, Michigan. Jackie joined the AirForce in 1965 and retired in 1982. His military service took him to England, Tucson, Arizona, Anchorage, Alaska and Texas. After retiring from the Air Force, he worked at the GSA Store on Elmendorf, AFB, AK . Jackie was preceded in death by his wife, Carol (Frazier) Carl. He is survived by his children Richard, his wife Samantha and their children Garette and Marissa. Tracy (Carl) Bettys her husband James and their children Amanda and Hunter.
Jackie liked to help kids; he was a lifelong blood donor, and he belonged to many organizations that raised money for sick or injured kids. Jackie was a Life Member of the Matanuska Lodge #7 Free and Accepted Masons, in Palmer Alaska. Life Member of the Glacier Lodge #10 Free and Accepted Masons in Anchorage, Alaska. Life Member of Mat-Su Valley York Rite Masons in Palmer, AK. Life Member of Anchorage York Rite Masons in Anchorage, AK. 33rd Degree Life Member of Anchorage Valley Scottish Rite, Southern Jurisdiction of the United States. Noble of the Ancient Arabic Order of the Nobles of the Mystic Shrine. Member of the Shrine Clowns. Member of the Shrine Royal Order of Jesters. Member of the Eastern Star. Jackie also worked at the Shriners food booth at the AK State Fair.
The funeral will be held at the National Cemetery on Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, on June 18, 2024, at 1300. We will line up at the Richardson gate, the far-right side at 1230.
