It is with great sadness to announce the passing of James Gene Berry, also known as Jim and Jimbo.
Jim was born on June 16th, 1964, in Chillicothe, Missouri. In 1971, the family moved to Alaska and it became his permanent home for life and adventure. Jim raised his family in Anchorage and was very proud of his daughter Jamie and son Johnnie. Jim worked in the construction field and traveled all over Alaska, painting some of Alaska’s most challenging structures. Jim made many friends along the way. He was always one to give the shirt off his back or find the time lend a hand. As a skilled outdoorsman, Jim loved to fish and hunt and was at home on the river or in the woods.
Jim was preceded to heaven by his brother, Willie; father, Richard; and grandparents.
Jim’s heritage is left on Earth in his children, Jamie and Johnnie, along with grandchildren, Remi and Seth. Jim is also survived by his wife, Donna; mother, Betty; step dad, Lynn; two brothers, Charlie and Rick (Holly) Berry; along with a loving extended family.
Services for reflection of life are in planning for the summer.
