After a short and harrowing battle, James Jones, 49, succumbed to cancer on March 15, 2015, in Wasilla.
Jim and Shelly Scott were married on Nov. 12, 1984, and had three children: Jim Jr., Tom and Amanda, all of whom he leaves behind.
Other survivors include grandson, Brandon; his mother, Sharon; and siblings, Larry Jr., Teresa Gillmore, Chris, Scott and Rex; five nieces; one nephew; two great-nieces; and one great-nephew. He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.
Jim enjoyed riding his dirt bike and four-wheeler in the backcountry. He also loved being in the mountains exploring. Jim always liked being outside, hunting, fishing and playing.
At a young age, Jim learned auto body and paint work. He was very talented and good in his profession, repairing anything and everything.
Jim will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
“He touched many lives and will forever be in our hearts. We love you sweetheart,” his family wrote.
