JAMES M. LANDRY

James Michael Landry, 51, died May 24, 2008 at home in Wasilla. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 1 at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 1601 N. Lucille Ave., Wasilla. Viewing will begin at 1:30, and Pastor Nathan Sutton will officiate. Burial will take place at Green Oaks Memorial Park in Baton Rouge, La.

Pallbearers will be Mark Aaron Mercer, Nathan Dahl, Clayton Dahl, Justin Russell, Jim Hoff and James Bruns.

Landry was born July 28, 1956 in Baton Rouge, La., and began his Alaska adventure in September 1977, living in Wasilla. He enjoyed music, reading and spending time with family and friends.

“James will remain in our hearts forever,” his family wrote. “He was a beloved son and loving brother whose kind heart, generous spirit and unconditional love blessed us all.”

Landry is survived by his father Cecil Landry Sr.; brothers Cecil Jr., Jeffrey and Leo Landry, all of St. Francisville, Louisia; sister Margaret Mercer of Wasilla; aunt Beverly Landry of Baton Rouge; sister-in-law Amanda Gaye Landry of St. Francisville; nephews Mark Aaron Mercer of Wasilla, Dustin Landry and Bobby Joe Landry of St. Francisville, and Jason Gleason of New Zealand; nieces Carmelite Russell, Melanie Landry and Whitney Landry, all of Anchorage; and five great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother Margaret Landry.

Valley Funeral Homes & Crematory of Palmer and Wasilla assisted the family.
