Wasilla resident James Redman Langendorf, 51, died Jan. 11, 2010, of natural causes at his home in Wasilla.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m., with a reception to follow at Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel in Wasilla. Jim’s cremated remains will be scattered in Prince William Sound at a later date.
Jim was born Jan. 22, 1958 to Earl and Rita Langendorf in Phoenix, Ariz.
Jim was the owner of Alaska Auto Arts in Wasilla and also had worked with Alaska Sales and Service.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting.
His family wrote, “Jim was devoted to his family, friends and employees. He was a hard working business owner and loyal member of the community. He lived his life to the fullest with integrity and honesty. He was an avid sportsman who loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting all around Alaska. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Jim will be sorely missed, but not forgotten”.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Langendorf.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Heather Langendorf; mother, Rita Langendorf; brothers, Carl, Ben and Joe Langendorf; nephews, James, Aaron, and Josh Langendorf and niece, Makenzie Langendorf.
