Palmer resident Jaquelyn “Jackie” Lee Adams, 58, died Sept. 25, 2012, at her home.

A celebration of life is Oct. 6 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Palmer. Burial with full military honors will take place at Fort Richardson National Cemetery at a future date.

Jackie was born Aug. 6, 1954, in Lansing, Mich., to Vern and Arlene Wright. She graduated in 1972 from Freemont High School in Freemont, Mich. She married Claude Adams on June 1, 2000.

Jackie came to Elmendorf Air Force Base in the 1987 while serving in the U.S. Air Force as a personnel specialist. She retired in 1995 as a master sergeant after 20 years of service to her country. After her retirement, she was employed by the state of Alaska and retired from Matanuska-Susitna Borough in 2010.

Over the years, Jackie took great pleasure in rescuing Boston terriers and leaves six in the loving care of her husband. She also enjoyed hunting garage sales for special treasures and gifts.

Her family wrote: “It is a very fitting testament to Jackie’s life — she was always giving and trying to please everyone around her, doing everything she could to make whomever happy; always kind, thoughtful and considerate.”

Surviving are her loving husband, Claude Adams; parents, Vern and Arlene Wright; sisters, Marilyn Tucker and Carolyn Royston; and brother, David Wright.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the American Cancer Society or the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
