Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Big Lake resident Jason David Poole, 28, died June 29, 2011.
No services are planned.
Jason’s ashes will be scattered on the Yukon River and on family property.
Jason was born Jan. 15, 1983, in Bloomington, Ind., the son of John D. Norris and Teresa L. Poole.
Jason received his General Educational Development certificate and later worked in the construction industry. Jason enjoyed fishing, hunting and loved Alaska.
“Jason was loved dearly by his family and he will be missed,” his family wrote. “Jason loved the outdoors, his dog and his beloved wife and daughter. His good-natured smile and pleasant character made him loved by all who knew him.”
Preceding him in death were his cousin, Joshua Poole; and his grandfather, Allen Poole.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Shaila Poole of Big Lake; daughter, Alexandria Poole of Big Lake; father, John David Norris of Big Lake; grandparents, Richard and Jane Norris of Spencer, Ind.; cousins, Kristina and Katy Norris of Bloomington, Ind.; sister, Jessica Lynn Norris of Bedford, Ind.; mother, Teresa Lynn Poole of Oolitic, Ind.; grandmother, Gloria Poole of Oolitic, Ind.; uncle, Bruce Poole of Bedford, Ind.; uncle, Rob Poole of Bedford, Ind.; and uncle, Les Poole of Oolitic, Ind.
