Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Jason Anthony Nolin, 27, of Anchorage, passed away on June 5, 2016.
He was born February 8, 1989, in Palmer, Alaska, the son of Anthony Nolin and Marlene Stephens.
He graduated from the Military Youth Academy in 2007 and serviced in The United States Air Force. After his time in the service, Jason attended UAA with the goal of one day becoming an Astrophysicist. Jason was an avid snowboarder. On a hot summer day you could find him fishing or frolfing.
Jason is survived by his parents, Marlene and Grant Stephens and Anthony E. Nolin of Palmer; fiancé Patti Cunningham, of Palmer; siblings, Rachelle and Jefferey Linville, and Jessica Nolin. He also leaves his two nieces, Eva Ann Linville and Alora Irene Mass; grandmothers, Dorothy House of Ray, Minnesota, and Ann Nolin of Seminole, Florida; uncle Gussie and Andi Grantham; uncle T.J. Grantham; uncle John and Diane Nolin of Palmer; uncle Patrick and Erma Nolin of Fairbanks; uncle Vincent and Pam Nolin of Minnesota; aunt Patsy Edperton of Minnesota; aunt Anna Marie Hausdorf of Seminole, Florida; aunt Judy Iverson of Minnesota; aunt Angie and Rodger Johnson of Minnesota; and many cousins and loving friends.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 11, at 2 p.m. at Janssen’s Mat-Su Funeral Home, located at 6901 E. Blue Lupine Drive. The service will be immediately followed by a celebration of life at the American Legion Post 15, located at 1550 Mystic Circle off Outer Springer Loop in Palmer.
