Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Houston resident Jason Ray Espinoza, 36, died June 5, 2011, at Providence Hospital in Anchorage due to pneumonia.
Memorial services are at 4 p.m., Wednesday, June 15, at Valley Funeral Home Chapel, 151 E. Herning Ave., Wasilla, with Pastor Daniel Bracken officiating.
Jason was born June 23, 1974, in Kenai, the son of Raymond and Raye Cheryl (Olds) Greenhalgh.
Jason loved working in the construction field all over Alaska, and loved snowmachining, fishing and four-wheeling. He also liked to do woodwork and spending time outdoors.
He loved spending time with his family and friends, and was loved by everyone who knew him. His family said he was a loving and caring person who lived life to its fullest, and that he loved to be wild while riding his machines.
He loved all types of animals and took any in that he knew didn’t have a home and would make his home a place where they could live.
Jason is survived by his wife, Kellie, and son, Derek of the Mat Su Valley; daughter and granddaughter, Kayla and Jersey Green of Kenai; stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Hollie and Zach McRae of Wasilla, Amanda and Cody Dunbar of Anchorage, Melanie and Steven Chapman of Anchorage and Kayla and Nick Grippin of Wasilla. He is also survived by his sisters and brother-in-law, Teresa and Mike Shaffer of Kenai and Vicki Espinoza of Wasilla; grandsons, Justin and Chevy Hicks, Toryn McRae and Brian Chapman; and granddaughters, Faith and Kallie Grippin. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Aylissa, Jordan, Christopher, Anthony, Amanda and Taylor Pass; aunt and uncle, Denise Wolk and Steven Olds; sister and brother-in-law, Christian and Eric Wyatt; his niece, Sammy of Fairbanks; his in-laws, Caron and Patricia Martin of Petersburg and James and Necia Becker of Daytona Beach, Fla.
He will be missed by his family and the friends he made along his life’s journey.
The family was cared for by Valley Funeral Home and Crematory of Wasilla.
