Jean “Jeanni” Lea Angus, age 51, passed away due to a tragic car accident Saturday, April 14, 2018 in Palmer, Alaska.

Jean was born December 5, 1966 in Las Vegas, Nevada to Leo and Cordia (Cornett) Fisher.

Jean lived in Gatesville, Texas prior to making Wasilla, Alaska her home.

She was proud of earning her Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology. Jean has worked for UAA and Mat-Su College in the past, but was most recently proud of her role with the State of Alaska Child Services as an Investigator.

Jean enjoyed gardening, crafts, cooking, and antiques.

The family wrote: “Jeanni had a special way of touching folks in a way that few others could. Her quick wit and caring demeanor were her hallmarks. She had an exhilarating way to make you laugh and a special outlook on life. She was an advocate for her special children, a passion for continuing education and she encouraged all to learn. Her love for native art was instrumental for her degree in Anthropology. She was the DAWGMA to her pets and had a deep unconditional love for her daughter Maddy, Chris, George and all of her family. She has left an imprint in our hearts and will truly be missed.”

Jean is survived by her daughter, Madeline Skye Angus; life-partner, Chris Cozad; ex-husband, George Angus; sisters: Penny Enders and Tammy Gregor-Phillips; nieces: Hannah Bailey, Angela Wassell, Ariel Phillips, and Kayla Fisher; and nephew, Brandon Fisher.

Celebration of Life in Jean’s memory will be held 12:00pm Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at Janssen’s Mat-Su Funeral Home – 6901 E. Blue Lupine Drive – Palmer, Alaska. (Off of the Parks Highway Frontage Road; next to Hartley Honda Motors). Reception will immediately follow the service from 1 to 3 p.m.
