Longtime Alaska resident Jeanette Charlene McCulloch (Smith), 43, passed away Sept. 10, 2014, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer.
Jeanette was born Nov. 7, 1970, in Anchorage. She worked in the insurance field for more than 18 years. Jeanette was last employed with Alaska National Insurance Company in Anchorage.
Jeanette was an avid outdoorswoman who loved fishing, camping, and riding her snowmachine to remote locations. She had a passion for her career in the insurance industry and effortlessly helped others in need. Her great love for animals, especially basset hounds, defined her sensitive and caring heart. She was inspired by childhood memories of independence; exploring forgotten trails on motorcycle, swimming in deep mucky lakes, and playing hide n’ seek by midnight’s sun. The Last Frontier has gained an adventurous bright star to guide us, a true Alaska girl.
Surviving are her mother, Carrol Murr; brother, Andrew Murr; and family; and the Harding-Childs family.
Send donations and shelter supplies in Jeanette’s honor to Mat-Su Valley Animal Shelter, 9470 E. Chanlyut Circle, Palmer, AK 99645. For more information, call 746-5500.
Arrangements were cared for by Valley Funeral Home, Wasilla Chapel. An obituary and guestbook are online at AlaskanFuneral.com
