Jeanne Marie Kilbourne, 71, of Prineville, Ore., died July 23, 2012. In accordance with her wishes, no service will be held.

Jeanne was born Feb. 28, 1941, in Alpena, Mich., to Clayton and Lillian Cripps. She graduated from Alpena High School in 1958. Jeanne then married Barry Kilbourne on June 14, 1958, and started a family. In addition to her own family, Jeanne raised numerous foster children throughout her life. She worked as a special needs substitute teacher, which eventually turned into a full-time job.

Jeanne participated in 4-H Club and Future Farmers of America. Her children went to state and international competition with their livestock. She enjoyed embroidering, sewing and flower gardening. Jeanne was a role model for all her children and was a tough act to follow.

Surviving are her husband, Barry Kilbourne of Prineville, Ore.; sons, Bryan Kilbourne of Wasilla and Kris (Brigette) Kilbourne of Marysville, Wash.; daughters, Kerina (Michael) Crane of Sedro Woolley, Wash., and Jinger (Steve) Buck of Prineville, Ore.; sisters, Mellidan King of Austin, Texas, and Evonne Barnard of Alpena, Mich.; brothers, Eldon Cripps of The Villages, Fla., Harvey Cripps of Flint, Mich., and Francis Cripps of Alpena, Mich.; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Preceding her in death was her parents and her sister, Millie McHarg.
