Jeffrey Mark Nolen

Jeffrey Mark Nolen, 53, died Jan. 31 at his residence in Palmer.

The family had a Celebration of his Life at his hangar in Palmer.

He was born Jan. 19, 1955 in Boscobel, Wis. He was in the Navy Reserve. In 1969 he moved to Anchorage and then went on to spend the rest of his life in Palmer.

He was self-employed as an airplane mechanic and refurbisher.

His family wrote, “Jeff was a loving father of two very special young women, a craftsman of the highest caliber, and an educated man in ways so few can imagine or imitate. He had the talent, ability and enthusiasm to take any project to fruition while inspiring and educating those of us fortunate to share space and time with him. Although he made his living working on airplanes he excelled at any craft he put his hand to. He was an inventive thinker, an avid reader and a true believer in goodwill. Countless friends and customers were recipients of his willingness to share his knowledge, his friendship, his abilities and even his hangar. His passing leaves each of us to venture on in his wake. May we all find solace and inspiration from the time he shared with us.”

He is survived by his mother, Lytrice Mains of Anchorage; daughters, Allex L. Nolen of Palmer and Brette E. Nolen of Palmer; brother, Michael P. Nolen of Anchorage, and uncle, Lavern Stenner (Sandra) of Arizona.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Arrangements were made by Valley Funeral Home and Crematory in Palmer.
