Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Jerry Dean Adams, age 71, on March 19, 2016, passed away in Anchorage, Alaska. Services will be held on Saturday, March 26, officiated by Jim Burnem, at the Valley Funeral Home and Crematory, located in Wasilla, Alaska. Friends will be received 1-2 p.m. for a visitation, with a burial to follow at Wasilla Aurora Cemetery. Pallbearers will include Drake Burton, Orion Harmon, Nathaniel Bartels, Todd Harmon, Jim Burnem, and Pete Carroll.
Jerry was born on April 21, 1944, in Moline, Kansas. As a high school graduate, Jerry joined the U.S. Air Force from June of 1962, until his retirement in June of 1983. Jerry enjoyed playing darts, gardening, and football, and has been an Alaska resident since 1984.
The family reflects that, “Jerry Adams was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. If friends or family had a need, no matter how large, he was there to offer his help. Jerry will always be much loved, and his memory cherished forever.”
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Adams; and brother, Jim Adams.
Jerry is survived by his father, William C. Adams, of Kansas City, Kansas; wife, Alloo D. Adams, of Palmer, Alaska; daughter, Miranda MB Harmon, of Palmer, Alaska; sister, Shirley Bartlett, of Kansas City, Kansas; grandsons, Drake OD Burton, and Orion CD Harmon, of Palmer, Alaska; great-grandson, Drake OD Burton Jr., of Wasilla, Alaska.
