It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Jessalyn Iris Helms, 19, passed away suddenly in a tragic car accident on April 4th, 2024. A celebration of life will be held May 11th, 2024 at Floaters Family Restaurant in Big Lake, Alaska at 3 Pm. Any friends of Jessalyn are welcome to join in celebrating her.

Jessalyn was born October 6th, 2004 at Providence Hospital in Anchorage, Alaska. She was a lifelong Wasilla resident. She graduated last year from Redington High School. She was a beloved daughter to Shannon and Teague Helms and a cherished sister to Camilla and Reiana Helms. She was also highly adored by her maternal grandmother Helen Dobrov, paternal grandfather Jim Helms, aunt and uncle Cassie and Aaron Magwire, and 2 cousins Avin and Ethan Magwire. Jessalyn’s light shone brightly wherever life took her. She was greatly loved and cherished through her years. Jess was very well known for her big smile, loud laugh, and kind nature. You could always count on her to tell you a story that will make you laugh. She had an immense love for animals and animals always seemed to return that love by being attracted to her. Jessalyn also loved just being in nature. She was always enjoying a nature walk or trip to the beach with her family. Spending quality time with her family and friends was one of her favorite things to do. Her bright light and loving energy will be greatly missed by many, forever in our hearts Jessalyn Iris. ‘When someone becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure’.
