Longtime Alaska resident Joanne Marie Lund passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018, at Caring Hands & Homes assisted living facility in Wasilla, AK.
Joanne and her husband left Los Angeles, CA in 1954, the day after their wedding, for their new home in Chugiak, AK. She loved spending time with her children, and outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and backpacking. She was also an accomplished artist and woodworker, and in later years built her own home and kitchen cabinets. She was an active member of the LDS church.
Joanne was born to Joe Wallace Palmer and Mary Glen Bray in Los Angeles, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Jimmy Norman Palmer. She is survived by her brother Gary (Sharon) Palmer, sons William (Sharon) Lund of Wasilla and David (Judith) Lund of Trapper Creek, daughters Glenda Lund Sanders of AZ, Peggy Parkin of WA, and Paula Lund of Seward. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 7pm on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the LDS church, Wasilla Stake Canter, 821 Dellwood St, Wasilla, AK 99654. Burial will be at Valley Memorial Park, Palmer, AK.
