Jocelynn Renee Allison

Jocelynn Renee Allison, 15 months, died Sept. 24, 2008 at Providence Hospital in Anchorage after a tragic accident in her home.

The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel in Wasilla, following a viewing at 11 a.m. in the same location. Interment will be at the family plot in Wasilla Aurora Cemetery immediately following the memorial service.

Jocelynn was born at Providence Hospital on June 22, 2007, to Clayton P. and Christiane J. Allison. She was the first grandchild for either side of her family, and remained the only grandchild at her death.

Jocelynn lived most of her life in Anchorage, Alaska, until her family moved to their new home in Wasilla, Alaska in August.

Jocelynn is survived by her parents; maternal grandparents Robert and Joy Vaughn of Palmer; paternal grandparents Phillip and Helen Allison of Wasilla; uncles Stevan Vaughn of Palmer and Drew Allison of Wasilla; aunts Melody, Bethany and Vivian Vaughn of Palmer; and maternal great-grandparents Hagood and Connie Mixson of Asheville, NC.

Her family wrote: “Jocelynn was the most precious and beautiful part of our lives. Her stunning eyes and gorgeous smile would cause people all around her to stop and catch their breath. Any music would cause her to start singing, clapping and dancing, and would send everyone around her into fits of laughter and joy. She faced many challenges in life, and conquered them with unfailing determination.

“She was our source of strength and hope, and when we looked into her eyes we knew she was telling us it was going to be okay, and she was happy,” they added. “In her short time here she has touched so many, and the void she leaves behind is one that can never be filled. Our comfort now lies in the image of her dancing, clapping and singing in Jesus’ lap to the beautiful music of heaven.”

Donations may be sent to the Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel, 1015 S. Check St., Wasilla, AK 99654; or to Clayton and Christiane Allison.
