Jody Corthell

Resident and lover of Alaska, Jody Corthell, 57, passed away on July 25, 2024, while staying at the Mat-Su Regional Hospital, Alaska.

Mrs. Jody Corthell was born February 7, 1967, in Great Falls, Montana, to Wilfred (Kemo) & Judy Sauby. She married her husband, Jason Corthell, on March 31, 2002. They met and lived in Las Vegas, Nevada, and moved to Alaska in 2004. Jody graduated from Le Cordon Bleu with Summa cum laude honors in 2007.

Due to illness, she enjoyed early retirement with gaming, painting, and other arts and crafts. She never had a problem standing up for her friends and always put others before herself. She loved spending time with her husband, children, fur-children, family, and friends. She enjoyed traveling to various music concerts, and anime conventions around the US as she was an avid lover of music and anime.

She is survived by her husband, Jason Corthell, of Wasilla, Alaska. Her daughter and 2 sons, Jeanette Corthell, Wil Buell, and Jonathan Corthell of Spokane, Washington. Her sister, Annette Sauby of Oilmont, Montana, as well as the two animals that she loved very much, Dexter, the dog, and Tanooki, the cat.

A celebration of life was held on July 27th in Wasilla. There will be a ceremony in October of 2024 in Oilmont, Montana, where her ashes will be laid to rest on her family's farm.
