Joe Allen Jorgenson, 61, passed away at his residence in Anchorage on March 10, 2014.
He was born Oct. 18, 1952, in Anchorage to James S. and Mary E. (Emerson) Jorgenson.
Surviving are his mother and step-father, Mary Eileen and Clarence B. Gregory of Peyton, Colo.; sisters, Darlene L. (Patrick) Kearney of Wasilla and Cheryl L. Shackelford of Peyton, Colo.; as well as nephews, nieces, numerous great-nephews and great-nieces, and the family and crew at Circle Plumbing and Heating where he worked and lived and loved them all very much.
Preceding him in death was his father, James; brother, George A. Jorgenson; and great-nephews, Joseph and Christopher.
Joe was a multi-talented man who worked at a little of everything doing Wildcat Well Drilling, mining, carpentry, fishing and working as a mechanic. He had also taken up and was very good at woodworking with several of his projects taking high placements at the Alaska State Fair in Palmer. He was an all-around handyman. Though in later years he did not get to indulge in it much, his real love was ocean fishing and most of all boats.
“Joe is sorely missed by family and many friends,” his family wrote. “We love you, Joe!”
