Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

John Loyd, 76 of Medford, Ore., went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2010, peacefully at his home. A celebration of his life will be planned for early summer.
Born in 1933, he is survived by his wife, Joyce; sons, Farren (Brei) of Alaska and Mark of Arizona; daughter, Shauna of California; stepsons, Sloan (Debbie) Valentino of California and Sean (Vanessa) Holzknecht, of California; step-daughters, Jenny (Kris) Howell, of Tennessee and Amanda (Jeremy) Bacon of Alaska.
He was preceded in death by his friend and mother, Gladys Van Dyke of Medford, Ore.; father, James Loyd of California; and brother, Jim Loyd of Florida.
Arrangements were by Perle Funeral Home.
