Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

John Mark Albrecht, 59, passed away from cancer the evening of March 11, 2015, in Palmer.
John was born on Sept. 28, 1955, in Akron, Ohio. He moved to Anchorage in 1980 where he soon met and married his wife Sandi Reimer. Together they built their home in Wasilla and raised three children. John and Sandi became small business owners in 1995. Puffin Appliance Service served the residents of the Mat-Su valley until 2014. As a technician, salesman, and member of various civic groups, John helped many people within the community.
John is survived by his wife, Sandi Albrecht of Wasilla; son, Alex Albrecht of Anchorage; daughter, Leanne Albrecht of Watford City, North Dakota; daughter, Irene Wilcox; and granddaughters, Esther, 7, and Lily Wilcox, 5, of Clearwater, Minnesota; brother, Pat Albrecht of Prescott, Arizona; sister, Theresa Albrecht of Rapid City, South Dakota; and sister, Barb Wright of Menifee, California.
John was preceded in death by his father, Bill Albrecht; mother, Phyllis Albrecht; and brother, Mike Albrecht.
A service is at 4 p.m., March 22 at St. David’s Episcopal Church, 2301 North Wasilla Fishhook Rd.
