John R. Butcher

Cedaredge resident, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Horizons Care Center in Eckert, Colorado. He was 64 years old.

John Richard Butcher was born March 5, 1955 to John Wayne and Mary K. (Wenderoth) Butcher in Powell, Wyoming. He spent his childhood and attended schools in Wyoming. John graduated from Laramie Senior High School with the class of 1973. During high school John was recognized as a world champion tuba player. He married Susan Snow in 1981 in Evanston, WY, they were later divorced. John belonged to Lazy Mountain Bible Church in Palmer, Alaska. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, being outdoors, but most of all he cherished the time he was able to spend with his three sons and his grandchildren.

John is survived by his three sons, John Ryan Butcher and his wife Loran, Daniel Butcher, and Jacob Butcher and his wife Amanda; four sisters, Brenda Dowell, Jeri Sandlian, Jody DuFour, and Jean Wardlow. John is further survived by eight grandchildren.

John was preceded in death by his parents.
