WASILLA- John S. Wood, 58, died unexpectedly March 6, 2022, at Mat Su Regional Hospital. He was born September 13, 1963, in Palmer Alaska, the son of Cyril, and Margaret (Washington) Wood. Steve graduated from Palmer High School, Class of 1981. Following high school, he met Mary and had 3 beautiful daughters. He was a man of many traits, he was a truck driver, construction worker and mined for a bit. He loved anything to do with fixing cars, playing softball, and teaching his grand kids how to work on cars. He was a kind, loving, stubborn man. He loved his family and dogs more than anything. He knew what he wanted and wouldn’t give up until it was accomplished. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his older brother, Michael Wood. Surviving is his oldest brother, Lawrence Wood (Palmer), Son, Joshua Kampmann (Washington), Daughters, Mara Wood, Grace Brown (Wasilla), and Melissa Torres (Colorado); his 8 grand kids, Landon Haragan, Talon Brown-Mohar, Lucas Haragan, Tre Brown (Wasilla), Illianna Torres, Christian Torres, Myah Torres (Colorado), and another grandson due April 2022, many nieces and nephews. A service of remembrance will be held 3 p.m. Friday, March 18 at The American Legion Post 15, 1550 S. Mystic Cir, Palmer, AK 99645. Those who wish to remember Steve please join together with his family and friends.
