Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Johnnie Lee Green, age 73, passed away on March 29, 2017, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer, Alaska.
Johnnie was born March 11, 1944, in Fannin County, Texas, to Thomas and Jonnie (Sallee) Moran.
She moved to Alaska in 1988 and lived in Delta Junction before calling the Mat-Su Valley home.
Johnnie was a retired realtor and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
The family wrote: “Johnnie was strong willed, plain spoken, very protective of children, loved to fish, she loved her yard and working in it too!”
Johnnie is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her loving husband, Gene Green; daughters: Tessa Gray, Connie Snook, and Brandie Willingham; and son, Loring Gray. She is also survived by her mother and father in-law, Dennis and Cleo Green; as well as nine grandkids, and seven great-grandchildren.
Johnnie’s ashes will be scattered at the Green family cabin in Minto Flats, Alaska.
Celebration of Life in memory of Johnnie will be held sometime in the summer of 2017.
