Jolena Littlebird

Jolena Littlebird, 36, passed away Aug. 22, 2014.

She was born Sept. 16, 1977, to Nicola Sue and John D. Pine.

Jolena came into this world with a bright smile that would melt your heart. She faced many challenges, all of which she overcame. She was known for her smile and laughter that brightened every room she entered. She will be remembered for her hugs, kindness, compassion and generosity. The sweetest soul anyone had the honor to meet.

She met and married her husband, Cory Littlebird, and had two beautiful daughters, Kaylyen and Destany Littlebird. She passed by natural causes in a doctor’s office in her newfound home in Louisiana. In her last days, she was happier than she had ever been, especially the time spent with her family and daughters.

She really enjoyed the outdoors, boating, fishing, Fourth of July cookouts, camping, four-wheeling, and fair time. The changing colors of autumn made it her favorite time of year. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Those who knew her loved her every moment and every second of her life.

Jolena was preceded in death by her grandparents, Herb and Connie Dundas and Earl and Sylvia Pine; brother, Johnie Pine; and her uncles Mathew C. Dundas and Fredrick E. Kubat.

She is survived by her husband, Cory Littlebird; daughters, Kaylyen and Destany; mother, Nicola S. Pine; brother, David Pine; sister, Vanessa S. Pine; nephews Sammy Heale and Jason Martin; aunt Sarah Dundas-Mock; her cousin and best friend, Leilonna C. Smith; cousin, “the one and only” Dustin Mock; and many more cousins and family members.

Her memorial is Sept. 7 at the Hatcher Pass Gateway Center off Edgerton Parks and Palmer-Fishhook Road. Her ashes will be released at Kenai Beach on Sept. 14. Updates can be found on her Facebook page: Jolena Littlebird.
