Long time Alaskan, Jonathon Paul Tilton, 68, passed away the morning of Dec. 4, 2022, at Matsu Regional Hospital, due to heart complications.
Service was held at Valley Funeral Home, 151 E Herning Ave. Wasilla, Wed Dec. 14th at 2pm, and a Celebration of Life was held at Jon’s local watering hole, Schwabenhof immediately after the service.
Jon was born Jan 23, 1954, in Seattle, WA, to Robert and Joanne Tilton. The Tilton family moved to Anchorage in 1968 and he graduated from Service High School in 1973. He married Constance Stanley and had his only son David Tilton. He married Deborah Vaugh and had his two daughters Jonorah and Emily Tilton. He then married Sherry LaRue and added her three sons Sammy, Chad, and Lance LaRue, and two daughters Nikki Sharp and Brenda Kritsonis into his family.
Jon enjoyed everything Alaskan and spent many days on the rivers fishing and prospecting.
He is survived by his brother Michael Johnston of Redwood, CA, son and daughter-in-law David and Deb Tilton of Minneapolis, MN and Wasilla, AK , grandchildren, Zach, Hailey, and Blake, daughter Jonorah Tilton of Abilene, TX, grandchildren, Amanda, Kyle, Preston and Bryce, daughter Emily Tilton of Abilene, TX, grandchildren Ariana, Esequiel and Paloma, step daughter Nikki Sharp of Covington, LA, grandchildren Tristan and Torence, step daughter and son-in-law Brenda and Ben Kritsonis of Baton Rouge, LA, grandchildren Lacy, Lachlan, Lauren and Lana, step son and daughter-in-law Sammy and Jessica LaRue of Wasilla, AK, grandchildren Levi and Alick, step son and daughter-in-law Chad and Colleene LaRue of Glenns Ferry, ID, grandchildren Elissa and Reno, and step son Lance LaRue of Wasilla, AK, with 9 great-grandchildren. Jon was preceded in death by his parents Robert and Joanne Tilton, brothers Carrol and Patrick Johnston, and Robert Tilton Jr, sisters Sandra Johnson and Connie Tilton.
The family asks that in lieu of flower arrangements, donations be made to Heart.org in his name.
