Joseph Burris Jr, born on February 21, 1978, in Anchorage, Alaska, passed away on March 20, 2025. With his passing he leaves behind his mother and stepfather Charlotte & Pat Murray, his two daughters Alexa & Michaela Burris, the mother of his children Rachel Burris and he was the soon-to-be grandfather to his granddaughter Mialena Currence.
Joseph, also known as Joey, was a proud Marine Corps veteran who served his country with honor. After his time in the military, he worked for Shamrock Septic and with the knowledge and support from his parents he started Aurora Portable Toilets, where he was known for his dedication and sense of humor.
Joey was a student of Houston High School and had a passion for tinkering with cars as a mechanic in his free time. He was always ready with a joke or a helping hand for his friends and family. He was the kind of person willing to take time out of his day to listen and learn about other people's life experiences.
He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will be cherished by all who knew him. Rest in peace, Joey. You will be deeply missed.
His services will be held on June 21st, 2025, at the VFW in Wasilla at 2 p.m. Flowers can be sent to the services, or you can donate to the Alaska Walk for Down syndrome in his honor.
