Palmer resident Joseph Reed Webster Jr., passed away after a three-year battle with cancer on Sept. 29, 2014, at Alaska Regional Hospital in Anchorage.

Joseph was born Feb. 3, 1954, in Chester, Pennsylvania, to Marlene and Joseph Webster Sr.

Shortly after graduating high school Joseph enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country from 1972-75, until he was honorably discharged.

After serving his country, Joseph began a long lasting career with Local 97 as a “Pipe Coverer” for heat and frost insulators, which spanned more than 35 years.

He enjoyed fishing, camping, and was an avid collector. He was also a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan and wore his jersey proudly.

Surviving are his daughters, Camille Devries and Nicole Webster; and step-daughters, Antonia Kelly and Alicia Kelly.
