Joseph William Brost

Joseph William Brost was born February 22, 1952 in Great Falls, Montana, to Colonel Joseph Ray Brost and Joyce Irene Brost.

He was a man full of life and adventure. Growing up an air force brat, he got a taste of Alaska when he was younger when his dad got stationed here and he vowed he would return for the fishing as soon as he graduated high school. He kept that vow and hitchhiked his way back to Alaska where he caught his finest catch, the love of his life and wife of 43 years, Judy Brost. They had four children, Joseph Brost, Jonah Brost (wife April, children Aiden, Alaiyah, Jacob and Jax), Jubilee Underwood (Husband Eugene, children Jayce and June), and Justice Brost (son Joseph). He spent the last 43 years being the best husband, father and papa the world could ever dreamed of. Joe was a hard working man, he was a carpenter for most of his adult life but technically he was a “Joe of all trades’’. He had a love for good music (rock, blues, anything with a good guitar riff..), fishing, food, fellowship with friends, and most of all adventuring and making memories with his family. His grandchildren were his world! If you knew Joe Brost, you knew you were both loved and known. Joe had a huge heart for reconciliation and restoration among all people, especially the ones in the land he lived in- Alaska. He left a huge hole in many hearts, so big that he can never be forgotten. His legacy of love that he left will only grow stronger, because that is the man he was.

He went home to be with his first love, Jesus, the greatest Father of all, on April 15th, 2021 surrounded by his family at MatSu Regional Hospital.

A celebration of life will take place on May 1st, 2021 at Summit Worship Center located at 125 W Riley Avenue, Wasilla, AK, 99654 at 2pm.
