Joshua Cope

Joshua Scott Cope, 21, died Aug. 29, 2007, in Houston.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sept. 2 at Faith Bible Fellowship on Hollywood in Big Lake. Pastor Ethan Hanson will officiate.

Born Aug. 9, 1986, in Seattle, Wash., Cope had been a lifetime Alaskan and a Christian, whose hobbies included skateboarding, snowboarding, snowmachining, hunting and fishing.

His family and friends were the most important people to him. He had an extra special love for his nieces and nephews, and loved his Lord with all his heart. Cope also held a great desire to help those in need and will be missed by all that knew and loved him.

Cope is survived by his parents, Kerry and Kim A. Cope; sisters Kim and Krista Cope; brothers Bryon Kelly and Robert Gallagher; nieces Emily, D’etta and Krystin; nephews Izaak and Cyrus; grandparents Thomas and Opal Cope of Silverdale, Wash.; and five uncles.

Valley Funeral Home & Crematory of Wasilla and Palmer is assisting the family.
