Judith Dee Whitmer, 76, died peacefully in her sleep on Aug. 4, 2023, in Palmer, Alaska.
Born to Darlene and Orie Pratt in Ellensburg, Washington, Judy met husband Arthur Whitmer on a blind date. After marrying in 1972, she worked alongside Art in his structural engineering firm as his bookkeeper, and was also a devoted mother to their three children. Judy enjoyed gardening during Alaska’s long summer days and quilting during the long winter months.
Following Arthur’s death in 2005, Judy made her way back to Washington state to live for a time in Sumner but returned to Palmer to live near her youngest son for the remainder of her years.
Judy fiercely loved her family and the Lord, and will be remembered for her deep faithfulness to both.
She is survived by her children, Rebecca Brown (John), Kyle Whitmer (Kari) and Todd Whitmer; grandsons Titus and Taten Whitmer; granddaughters Kate and Bella Brown; big brother Kent (Karen) of Royal City, twin brother Jim (Jackie) and younger sister Betsy (all of Ellensburg); along with many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Arthur Whitmer, parents Darlene and Orie Milton Pratt, and brother Mike Pratt.
