Wasilla resident Judy R. Kendall, 54, died of bone cancer Dec. 15 at her home.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m., at Amvet Post 11, 951 South Hermon Road #2 in Wasilla.

Judy was born Sept. 4, 1954 to Marvin and Ruby Nobles in Orlando, Fla. She came to Alaska in 1964.

She worked for the state for the Regulatory Commission and retired in 2003.

Judy enjoyed painting, woodcarving and making jewelry and stain glass.

Her family said, “We will miss her more than life. She was our best friend. She was also a loving mother, wife, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, stained glass and wood carving. She had a very creative touch. She knew how to live, love and laugh. She lived life to the fullest with a kind heart. She had a way with animals, they were attracted to her. She had an adventurous soul, always moving”.

Judy is survived by her husband, Rusty Kendall; daughter and son-in-law, Jeni and Robert Belman of Wasilla; mother, Ruby Nobles of Ala,; sisters, Sandra Haller and Marlene Berry of Ala., and Faye Mason of River Falls, Wisc.; brother, Marvin Lee Nobles of Talkeetna; aunt and uncle Olen and Ann Smith of Wasilla; grandson, Michael Brewer of Anchorage; granddaughter, Gina Smith of Wasilla; great-granddaughter, Sydnie Brewer of Anchorage; nephews, Seegar Mason, Neil Mason and Russell Mason of River Falls, Wisc.; niece Kim Goodman of Ala.; grandnieces, Sage and Lily Mason of River Falls, Wisc.; grandnephews, Nate Mason of River Falls, Wisc,; Jeremy Berry and Matthew Goodman of Ala.; and best friend for life Carol Hawn-Miller.

Arrangements are with Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel and Crematory.
