True enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and camping with his family, radio controlled airplanes and gardening.

True was a hard worker, working a variety of jobs. He liked to call himself "Jack of all trades, master of none." His passion for Alaska and gold panning brought him here in 1992.

Preceding him in death was his beloved wife, Elnora Hitesman; grandson, James Garrick; and great granddaughter, Alyssa Wolfe.

A funeral is Sept. 8 at Valley Funeral Home. The family will then transport him to the Hickerman cemetery in Homer on Tuesday and lay him to rest next to his beloved wife.
