Justin L. Price

Justin L. Price, 48, beloved husband, father, son, brother and grandfather, died March 16, 2013, of natural causes at his home in Palmer.

Justin was born on April 15, 1964 in Roswell, N.M., to Robert and Wanda Price.

In 1981, the family moved to Alaska, where Justin worked for Safeway and received his high school diploma from Anchorage Community College. In later years, Justin attended New Mexico State University through The Dona Ana Community College, where he attended courses in fire science as well as in buildings and property maintenance.

In 1982, Justin met the love of his life, Kathleen Davis. They were married May 28, 1983 in Anchorage. It was in Anchorage they began their own beautiful family by having first Jennifer Christine, then Kyle Layton and finally, Stacey Marie Price.

Justin, Kathy and family relocated to New Mexico for eight years, but eventually made their way back to Alaska. Of course, the rest of the family followed suit and were once again just a few miles from each other. Upon returning to Alaska, Justin took a position with Anchorage School District, where he worked as the BPO for Chinook Elementary and then Birchwood ABC.

Justin told many stories involving the children he worked with. He stated they called him “Mister Justin” and that he spent a lot of time tying shoes and zipping coats up for the little ones. He said not a day went by when he didn’t hear “Mr. Justin, will you tie my shoes for me?” While in New Mexico, Justin was very proud to have served as a volunteer firefighter and first responder in Las Cruces. Justin’s skills were well served when he had the opportunity to save the life of a little girl when she choked on a lifesaver while playing.

Above all, Justin was a wonderful son, husband, brother father and grandfather. Justin was also very gracious to his friends and was always there to lend a hand when asked. There has never been a man who cared about others more that Justin did and he continually proved this throughout his life.

Justin loved his family with his whole heart and being. Justin enjoyed many things in life, but his favorite moments were spent with his family whether it was spent camping, fishing, hanging out at the house watching a bonfire and barbequing, or watching a football game. Justin enjoyed spring and summer and took great joy in taking care of the family lawn and completing do-it-yourself projects with the help of his dad. Justin also loved decorating the home during the holiday seasons. Justin enjoyed a longstanding competition for the “best decorated House” with his very good friend and neighbor, Greg Andrews.

“Our family is forever grateful that Justin is a true believer in Christ, and although he will be greatly missed and our hearts will continue to break in his absence, we have the assurance that we will see him again and once again, our family will be made whole,” his family wrote.

Justin is survived by his wife of 29 years, Kathleen Price,; daughter, Jennifer (James) Breton; son, Kyle Price; daughter, Stacy Price; and grandchildren, Christiana, Kaden and Skyler Breton, Patrick Price, and Logan and Tristan Travis. Justin is also survived by his loving parents, Robert and Wanda Price; sister, Rhonda Price; and brother, Brian (Deanna) Price; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

There was a service March 21, 2013, at Kehl’s Palmer Chapel, followed by a celebration of life at the Kendall Park Octagon Building in Palmer.
