Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Karen Lyda Romriell, 67, died Dec. 16, 2010, at home in Chickaloon.
Karen was born Oct. 22, 1943, in Richmond, Calif. She moved to Anchorage in 1957 and graduated from West High School. Karen went on to beauty school and was a hairstylist for many years, was part owner of King Mt. Lodge. She also owned and operated Castle Connection Greenhouse until her retirement.
Karen enjoyed gardening and working in the greenhouse, reading and traveling.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon Romriell of Chickaloon; daughter, Heather Romriell of Wright City, Mo.; sister, Kathryn MacDonald of Pinole, Calif.; brother, David Fey of Napa, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Phillip Fey.
Arrangements were with Legacy Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Kehl’s Palmer Chapel.
