Katelyn Mae Skiles

Katelyn Mae Skiles, 4 weeks old, passed away May 26, 2010, at her home in Big Lake due to SIDS. She was born April 23, 2010, at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center in Palmer to Geannette Skiles.

A memorial service in loving memory of Katelyn will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Valley Funeral Home in Wasilla, 151 E. Herning Ave.

Her family wrote, “Grandma’s going to miss her little frog. Grandpa misses you, little bird. Mommy loves and misses her beautiful little angel. Her twin brother Benjamin and Katelyn were really close. It’s a blessing to have spent the short time we all had with her. She was always making everyone laugh. She weighed 3 pounds, 14 ounces at birth and was weighing 5 pounds, 2 ounces when she passed. Mommy loves you, Katelyn, and I can’t wait to be with you again. She brought joy to so many people and touched a lot of people we didn’t even know. Thank you to all those who were here at our home trying to help with my little one.”

Katelyn is survived by her mom, Geannette Skiles of Big Lake; brother, Benjamin Skiles of Big Lake; uncle, Shawn Skiles of Big Lake; aunt, Katheryn Jones of Big Lake; grandma, Tonya Jones of Big Lake; grandpa, Lew Fikes of Big Lake; dad, Scott Crabtree of Wasilla; grandma, Linda Crabtree of Wasilla; great-grandma, Berry Roystone of California; great-grandma, Diana Jones of Oregon; and great aunt, Lisa Muir of Wasilla.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandpa, Larry, and aunt, Mekaila.

Katelyn will be laid to rest in the Garden of Angels at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Lebanon, Ore.

Arrangements were with Valley Funeral Home in Wasilla.
