Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Kathleen “Kasey” MacIntosh, 45, died Aug. 25, 2013, at Horizon House in Anchorage from an anoxic brain injury.
A memorial service is at 6 p.m., Aug. 27 at St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church in Palmer with Father Wayne Britnell officiating. A reception to celebrate Kasey’s life is immediately following at Riverbend Circle in Palmer. Kasey’s cremated remains will be scattered in Kodiak and at her father’s grave in Beaufort, S.C.
Kasey was born Dec. 30, 1967, in Brunswick, Maine. She came to Alaska in 1987, and resided in Kodiak from 1987 to 1995 and in Anchorage from 2010 to 2013. She was a member of St. Bartholomew’s Episcopal Church. Kasey loved her family and friends more than anything. She also loved movies and reading. Her family stated: “Kasey had the most infectious laugh. Making people smile was her mission. She loved with all of her heart.”
She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred “Tom” Morris in 2007; and sisters, Deborah Morris Hernandez in 2008 and Donna Morris Carlson in 2012.
Survivors are her mother, Patricia Morris of South Carolina; brother, Mike Morris and his spouse Deborah of South Carolina; sisters, Linda Morris Finn of Florida and Rebecca Morris Recker and her spouse Russ of South Carolina; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Arrangements are with Alaskan Heritage Memorial Chapel and Crematory of Wasilla.
