Retiring teacher, coach urges Colony grads to ‘find their 68’

Lifelong Alaskan resident Mrs. Kathleen S. Lavallee, 68, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, August 20, 2015 in Wasilla.
Viewing will be held at Valley Funeral Home Tuesday, August 25 from 4 to 6 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 26 at 1 p.m. at Mat-Su Evangelical Covenant, located at 5201 East Mayflower Lane in Wasilla. Interment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
Kathleen was born on October 21, 1946 in Nome, Alaska. She loved picking berries, walking on the beach, and spending time with her family.
Kathleen is survived by her husband Robert J. Lavallee of Wasilla; son Peter (Rachel) Olson of Golovin; daughter Noella (Kenneth) Perry of Wasilla; Son Isaac Lavallee of Wasilla; daughter Connie (Steve) LaVine of Wasilla; daughter Emily (Julio C.) Navarro of Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson; sister Helen Curran and family of Nome; Sister-in-Law Maggie Moses and family of Wasilla; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by father John Olson, mother Katherine Olson, and brother “Butch” Alfred Moses Jr.
Arrangements were entrusted to Valley Funeral Home, Wasilla Chapel.
