Wasilla resident Kathryn Heit Gilgus died in an automobile accident in Wasilla on Dec. 30, 2007. She was 59.
Gilgus was born July 12, 1948 in Portland, Ore., to William and Leona Helt. She graduated from Grant High School in 1966.
Gilgus was employed with The Oregon Clinic for many years, and was actively involved with The Harley Owners Group. She moved to Wasilla in 2005 to be close to her only son and granddaughter. She enjoyed spending time and playing games with her.
Gilgus was employed at Providence of Alaska.
She is survived by son Bradley (Christine) Gilgus and granddaughter Haylee Gilgus, all of Anchorage; sister Diane Gosling of Bend, Ore.; and many other extended family members. Gilgus was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Bill Helt.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 at Rose City Cemetery 5625 NE Fremont St., Portland.
